his millennium year has been packed with good things and we can quietly be thankful of several achievements including, most importantly of all, discrete health. Sandra continues with Market Research and Francis continues to lecture in IT at Woolwich College and has been put in charge of various new ventures including an IT and Internet club and school links.

Sandra at Thiruvananthapuram Temple

We spent the first two weeks of the new millennium in beautiful South India. Francis had not been here for almost twenty-five years but it was Sandraís first visit to the sub-continent. Among the highlights were a visit to the Periyyar wildlife park, a two-day cruise on the backwaters, with a houseboat all to ourselves, an elephant ride, a journey to Kanya Kumari, the southernmost tip of India and, of course, lazy days on the beach, fascinating visits to the rich social life of the local towns and villages of the area and, as ever, great food. India never disappoints and we voted this the most extraordinary holiday weíve ever had.

Other holidays included our annual Greenwich Community College (the new name of Woolwich College) to Panticosa, Spanish Pyrenees, where, although the snow was disappointing, we had a great time, including two days in Barcelona where we finally saw Gaudiís masterpieces.

Summer was spent on Captain Corelliís Island, Cephalonia Ė an idyllic fortnight spent on this relatively unspoilt island where we also caught the tail-end of the filming of the eponymous feature, swam in the purest waters, ate brilliantly, climbed to the top of Mount Aenos, handled holy snakes and attended St Gerasimusí festival.

In addition to no. 66, purchased last year and let out to Greenwich University students, we recently purchased a riverside flat at Galleonís reach with stunning Thames views.

The Launch of the Magnetic Poets (of which we are both members) Millennial anthology proved most successful. Do order your copy now by visiting our Web site at http://francisandra.com and follow the link.

The season at our three-star WTB rating Wales cottage of Rhiwhiriaeth Uchaf progressed well and Internet bookings are especially popular. We have, however, concentrated on Italy, visiting our Florence flat twice. Easter and autumn must be the best seasons to visit Tuscany Ė autumn, especially with its radiant forest colours and chestnut festivals. This year we hired a scooter to visit some of the more remote outreaches of this enchanted land.

Our other interests went well, including Sandraís craft courses, the Sutton House Music Society, (Francis is advertising Secretary), motorbike maintenance course and sailing up to the end of November.

In terms of shows and concerts we especially enjoyed Brazilian singer Marisa Monteís gig and the great Paolo Conte.

In conclusion, we wish you, your friends and family a truly enjoyable Christmas season, hoping this finds you in good health, and send you our best wishes for the New Year, hoping it brings you a thousand and one good things.
